For twenty-five years Carlos Martínez has been performing throughout Europe in churches, festivals and theatres basing much of his work on the incredible stories and life-changing concepts found in the Bible. The technique of mime has allowed the actor to cross not only language barriers but also to bring fresh glimpses into the actions and feelings behind the words of the Bible. In recognition of his work, the German foundation Bibel und Kultur awarded Carlos Martínez its annual prize in 2002 for communicating biblical content through the media of modern art.
In preparation for the Year of the Bible, Carlos Martínez restructured some of his pieces, created others and placed them together in a show called My Bible. This show was recorded in front of a live audience in order to produce the video "Bibel ohne Worte" (Bible Without Words). The project was coordinated in 2003 by Fritz Baltruweit and the video was distributed extensively in Germany.
Recently this material has been reedited in a DVD called MY BIBLE. This new release has been accompanied by a number of very favourable press reviews of the DVD.
