"Sarahjoy Marsh discovered yoga during a troubled time. Struggling with an eating disorder and looking for the balance she lacked, she found her center only after finding yoga. Since then, she has worked to bring her knowledge and spirit to others, teaching first in traditional studios and eventually bringing her practice to the places neglected by the outside world: prisons, drug rehabilitation centers, homeless shelters and centers for disadvantaged youth.

Yoga and the Tao of Giving traces the formation and expansion of Marsh's nonprofit organization, Living Yoga, an outreach program dedicated to bringing yoga and its spiritual tools to populations not typically exposed to its teachings.
