• Catfish: Steve Wiggins | bio

  Steve has been around Television and Movies his entire career. He has directed hundreds of Television commercials and has received numerous awards for his work, including a Palm Beach Advertising Federation Addy Award for Best Animated Commericial. He has directed and produced dozens of documentaries and short films.

  This is his first starring role in a feature-length motion picture.

• Boom-Boom: JC Hester | bio

  JC Hester

  JC received his B. S. degree in theatre from the University of North Alabama. He has also studied privately with Kemper McDowell and Tim Ownby. He has appeared in numerous productions in various theatres in and around Florence, Alabama. He has directed productions for The Dual Destiny Theatre and The Zodiac Theatre. His credits also include a television role as Santa Claus in an episode of In the Heat of the Night and a role in The Jar which was a world premier written by Ray Bradbury. His latest credit comes from playing a deputy in The Cypress Moon Productions feature film, When I Find the Ocean.

• Dr. Carmella Coggins: Jennifer Kilpatrick | bio

  fter spending several years working in television news, Jennifer has been active in The Shoals area theatre, appearing in shows such as Flowers for Algernon, Children, Murder at the Howard Johnson’s and All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. She also directs Time-Out for Theatre’s annual production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Jennifer also toured with The Steve Trash Illusion Show and appeared in the children’s film Trash TV.

  R.J. O'Connell

  RJ was born and raised in Florence, Alabama. He is involved with Theatre at Florence High School. Some of his credits are Excalibur, The Outsiders, and The House at Pooh Corner, The Yellow Boat, and Harvey.

  RJ really likes video games, computers, Theatre, Film, Hockey, Baseball, Auto racing, saying random off-the-wall stuff and just hanging out with his friends. He really dislikes School, bigots, people who whine, going to bed at midnight and having to get up at 6 a.m., and having neat ideas for stories censored. RJ hopes to get free employee discounts out of his film career.

• Tird: Matt Osborne | bio

  Matt Osborn

  Matt plays Tird in Birth of a Legend: The Story Of The WAWA. Matt also had a part in the documentary by Whippoorwill Hollow Films, Sheffield a City Hanging Over a Cliff. Matt is more than a carpet-bagging Yankee…he was born in France, of all places! After a nine-year stint in uniform, he stole his BACHELOR OF ARTS degree from the University of North Alabama. He has just completed his first novel, South of Strange, which he shamelessly plugs at every opportunity.

  Los Angeles - Worked various low-level positions on a number of motion pictures and television shows. Worked as background actor on many movies and tv programs. I did this for about 2 years because of my love of the work. As anyone can guess... it certainly wasn't for the money! This was a great counterpoint to all the experience I had on the broadcasting side of the industry.

  North Alabama - Established The Catfish Wrapper (thecatfishwrapper.com). A website that features numerous short movies within a political/comedic vein. We also make political commentary and raise a few eyebrows on the site!

• Executive Producer: Sheri Wiggins | bio

  Sheri Wiggins has always had a dream. A dream of making movies and making people laugh. She was able to follow this dream and catch it when "Birth of a Legend: The Story of the WAWA" was completed. This was her first feature film and according to her husband and co-writer of the screenplay, she did an outstanding job.
  Sheri has a number of short films to her credit. She also co-produces, writes, and directs, along with her husband and best friend, Steve a local internet TV show called "SpeakEasy". This show airs weekly on the website, www.thecatfishwrapper.com, that Sheri and Steve produce.

  Sheri also co-produced, again along with Steve a documentary on their home town of Sheffield, Alabama. The film "Sheffield, A City Hanging Over a Cliff' was screened at the George Lindsey Film Festival in Florence, Alabama in 2005.

  Sheri is very excited about producing her first feature film and hopes that many more projects await her and Steve.

  Located in Sheffield, Alabama Whippoorwill Hollow Films has produced several shorts and a weekly Internet TV Show "SpeakEasy" as well as commercials and music video work.
