• Adventure Artist: Becci Crowe | bio

  Specializing in Wildlife and Tribal Portrait Art, Becci's desire to study her subjects in their natural world has lead to adventurous travel in Alaska, Antarctica, The Amazon, Argentina, Costa Rica, China, Tanzania, Botswana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Namibia among many others. One of Becci's journeys was to Rwanda in search of endangered Mountain Gorilla - the same area where Dian Fossey of Gorillas in the Mist did her research. This experience tracking mountain Gorilla led to an interview by National Geographic Adventure Magazine as part of an issue on the world's top 25 adventure trips. After ten years of travel to Africa, Becci shared her extraordinary experiences directly by leading a group on Safari to Botswana & Zambia. Wanting to live and work as close to nature as possible, her home studio in Washington State has been designated by the National Wildlife Federation as a Certified Backyard Wildlife habitat.
  As an artist, Becci's explorations in wild and remote places provide a wealth of information for the creation of her original art. Becci's dramatic images are made with watercolor, pen & ink, or graphite. Mastering a technique call Pointillism, these originals involve creating an image on paper 'dot by dot'. Becci's pen & ink pointillism pieces have thousands of points and can take hundreds of hours to complete.
  A strong advocate for educational programs that explore and strive to preserve wildlife and world cultures, Becci engages and entertains audiences everywhere with dynamic presentations of her travel, art, and wildlife experiences. • Wildlife Guide: Ivan Carter | bio

  Ivan Carter was born and raised in Zimbabwe. He began his wildlife career at a young age at a wildlife orphanage where he gained hands on experience in the rearing of sick and injured animals. In 1991, Carter became the youngest person to pass Zimbabwe's exacting Safari Guide Examinations and also holds Professional Hunter and Canoe Guide licenses. Today he guides through ten of Africa's top wildlife countries and is recognized as one of the best in the business. His forte is walking with big game where an intimate knowledge of the wildlife, from hundreds of days in the field, gives him the unique ability to approach them on foot.

  Ivan is as comfortable leading a small group through his favorite habitat as he is addressing a rapt audience at Stanford University. In 2001 and again in 2003, he was invited by Stanford University to present lectures on “Observations of Wildlife” and “Monitoring Elephant Populations”. Ivan was recognized in the August 2001 issue of Travel and Leisure Magazine in their article “Follow the Leaders” featuring the best guides in Africa. In October 2002 he was featured in Conde Nast. An avid photographer, Ivan has held exhibitions in London and the Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland.

• Photographer: Mark Crowe | bio

  Physician, Retired Army Colonel, Photographer & Videographer, Mark Crowe's roots lie in Texas. A Texas A&M graduate with a Medical Degree from the University of Texas at Galveston, Mark began traveling internationally early in his Army career. An avid photographer, Mark has a unique ability to capture his experiences through his photographs.

  Mark and his spouse, Wildlife Artist Becci Crowe, continue to travel extensively. In the air and off the beaten path for many weeks out of the year, their journeys include repeated trips to different parts of Africa. Documenting an adventure they had searching for endangered Mountain Gorilla in Rwanda, Mark videotaped their experience for the first time. He has never looked back. Founder of Crowe World Media, Mark is Executive Producer of the Documentary "As Close As You Dare - Africa" which begins broadcast nationwide in February 2008 on Public Television Stations across the US.

• Wildlife Tracker: Nevison Midzi | bio

  Nevison Midzi was born into the Shona tribe of Zimbabwe. A child of the 1940's, he was raised in western Zimbabwe where he began learning tracking skills at an early age. Nevison's assessment of spoor can determine not only when the tracks were made, but the age, sex, speed and direction an animal is walking. He can examine droppings and know whether an animal has been drinking recently, what it has been eating, and whether it is relaxed or nervous. When there's no spoor to follow, his knowledge of the flora and fauna and his keen senses pick up arial sign such as broken sticks or disturbed leaves that are not on the ground.

  A man of many talents, Nevison is fluent in Shona, Ndebele, and English. With years of experience behind him, Nevison has gained a reputation for his exceptional tracking ability and for the past seven years has worked almost exclusively with Professional Wildlife Guide Ivan Carter.

  With 22 years of production experience, Johan Bos has produced and directed several documentaries for National Public Broadcasting Stations (PBS). "Return to Mexico" and "This is Egypt" received national broadcast Production Awards. Johan has extensive experience with Editing and Music Direction for television shows, and has received many awards including the coveted first place for Corporate Image Production. Johan hosted "Away We Go", a film he produced and directed. Johan's credits also include experience as Co-producer and Director of the weekly television series "Rock Utah".
