Using a live model Bill Buchman demonstrates how to make beautiful figure drawings – one step at a time. The film opens with an imaginative visual poem which evokes the essence of the figure drawing process with images, words and music. The viewer accompanies Bill in real time as he weaves the many strands of the drawing process into a tapestry of drawing knowledge and techniques. Bill studied life drawing in the 1960’s with two of America’s foremost art educators: major American figurative painter Fletcher Martin and the Museum of Modern Art’s Education director, Victor D’Amico.
