Synopsis

Seen through the eyes of the frustrated Afriel, field commander Micah must lead his cadre of rough-and-tumble angels through a gauntlet of Fallen mischief, including illegal soul harvesting. A documentary film crew follows these "ordinary angels" as they defend innocent mortal souls and give interviews about their function in the celestial order.

Director: Todd Downing | bio
Todd Downing wrote and directed his first feature at age 17 using talented high school classmates and mid-1980s prosumer video gear. The film was featured on a PBS young directors’ series, and the Palo Alto Weekly likened Downing (embarrassingly) to a young Orson Welles, with whom he shares a birthday.

A San Francisco Bay Area native, Downing relocated to Seattle in 1991 with his wife (and fellow film & stage collaborator) Samantha. Todd continued to write and produce short films for television and the Web, while earning a living as an artist in the videogame industry. A decade and a half and two children later, Samantha died from a rare cancer – but not before pushing Todd back into film. The DV feature they’d been producing was shelved, and Todd approached Seattle comic book artist JD Green with a more somber concept that could easily tie in with Green’s own Fallen Horsemen property. The two hammered out the story that Downing would fashion into Ordinary Angels.

Todd Downing resides in West Seattle with his two children, dog Wiley and guinea pig James Brown. He is active in the local arts, cancer and widowed communities.
